Longhorns Split at Pope Tri-Match

The Longhorns split at the Pope Tri-Match on Tuesday night, falling to Walker A in the first match but defeating the home team, Pope, in the nightcap. The girls looked a little dazed and confused in the first game and didn't really seem to know what was going on (much to my dismay). But, they rebounded in game two and played very strong defense. The MVP of the night was definitely Brittany "The Vulcher" Stocus, who was a terror at the net, picking up five blocks in the two matches. Eliana Tiller tore up the court with her serves, tallying 12 aces.

Here are other statistics from the night:
Amalie Alvarez: 22 set attempts, 3 aces
Savannah Corr: 2 aces, 4 digs
Julie Edwards: 3 digs
Gina Hogan: 5 digs
Ashley Jones: 17 digs, 5 kills, 2 aces
Laura Kirby: 8 digs, 4 aces
Kelsey Lowman: 8 sets
Brittany Stocus: 5 blocks, 8 kills
Eliana Tiller: 18 digs, 12 aces
Alexis Vasquez: 8 digs

The girls next match is their first home match of the season! They will get their chance at revenge when they take on Walton A at 6:00 pm then play Sprayberry at 8:00 pm. on Thursday night at Kell High School!

Parents: We will need volunteers to work the tables for our matches and also line judge! Don't be shy!
